Awards for Heathfield Youth Drama Group

There was much success for the Heathfield Youth Drama group at last month’s Southern Counties Drama Festival held at the Barn Theatre Oxted Surrey.

The Group performed Gosforths Fete by Alan Ayckbourn, extracts from Bouncers by John Godber, Shakers by John Godber  Jane Thornton and Arabian Nights by Dominic Cooke.

There were 14 teams involved and a total of six awards categories, in which the drama group were nominated in five categories. They went on to win two awards – The Best Stage Presentation Award, and the Adjudicators Award.The Heathfield Youth Drama were especially grateful to all of those who helped with the production:

Warbleton Brass Band who allowed them to record them for Gosforths Fete 

Ana’s Flowers, and Nicky Lee Marshall  who lent us apple boxes to dress the stage  

Signs of Style who made all our signs

Village Marques who provided us with tent sides and the Yew Tree at Chalvington who provided us with Beer Barrels (empty of course) all of which helped us to gain the nominations and awards
