Turkey farm supports farming charity

JR Sheffield turkey farm in Vines Cross, near Heathfield, will be once again be supporting the charity FCN – The Farming Community Network. It’s a voluntary organisation and charity that supports farmers and families within the farming community through difficult times.

Lucy Sheffield explains: “Since 2019 our lovely customers have given just over £400. People are super generous when collecting their turkey and we often used to hear ‘keep the change’. We decided to change this in 2019 and donate any monies given in this way to charity. We also have dog treats and reindeer food to purchase and any money from this goes to the chosen charity of the year.”

Orders for turkeys are coming in steadily. JR Sheffield offers birds to cater for small or large gatherings, from a crown to a full bird you will find an option to suit your festive requirements.  For alternative cuts, please make direct contact and the team will try accommodate your needs.

Consider buying a whole Christmas turkey this year – all the bird, in all its glory. It will make a spectacular Christmas centre piece to help feed your family through the festive period.

Lucy said: “We would love to see people wasting less, by perhaps considering securing a whole bird and using across the festive few days rather than a crown. Taking advantage of the time at home perhaps to ‘get their cook on’ in the kitchen and use the leftovers, be it pie, curry or even turkey tacos!”

All J&R Sheffield turkeys are presented in a bespoke carry box, with ‘pop up’ timer and cooking instructions. 

To order, click and select your turkey option, you will then be able to select your weight/size of turkey and price calculated. All weights include giblets which make a delicious gravy. If you would like giblets removed please add this to the note at checkout and the team will make sure they aren’t boxed.
