DESCRIPTION:\n\n&nbsp\;\n\nDYING MATTERS WEEK 6-12 MAY 2024 is a campaign f
 rom the charity Hospice UK\n\nHonest\, timely conversations about death an
 d dying are essential to good end of life care. Yet all too often barriers
 \, including lack of confidence\, taboos around discussing death\, and con
 fusion about who should be having these conversations mean patients\, care
 rs and families may not understand what is happening\, or get all the info
 rmation and support they need.There are some wonderful local hospices clo
 se to Heathfield with St Wilfrid's in Eastbourne\, The Cottage Hospice in 
 Five Ashes (Hospice in The Weald) and Hospice in the Weald Hospice at Pemb
 ury.\n\nThe language we use regarding death and how we talk to those who a
 re grieving is so very important. We invite you to join us for lunch at ou
 r Dying Matters event next week.\n\nLucy Atabey from White Feather Funeral
 s will be talking about the importance of the language we use when organiz
 ing funerals. Sue Jenkins a local bereavement counsellor will be discussin
 g how to talk to people about their grief and the person they have lost. A
 nd throughout this event\, there is an opportunity for remembrance -candle
  lighting and a listening ear from ex-NHS chaplain Rev Vicky in a quiet sp
