DESCRIPTION:To welcome in the New Year we are inviting visitors to join us 
 for a £5 pp special admission. Our first Open Evening for the 2018 Season
  could be the very start of a whole new interest...\n\nDoors open at 6.30p
 m but\, what to expect on an Observatory Science Centre Open Evening.\n\nI
 f you are interested in the night sky and wondered what it would be like t
 o look at the stars\, planets and the moon through some of the country's l
 argest telescopes\, here is your opportunity! Join us on an open evening a
 nd take a glimpse of what it would have been like to use these amazing ins
 truments.\n\nFollow this link to our website for details of Astronomical i
 nformation for the evening.\n\nWe plan a cloudy night contingency talk whi
 ch is usually a planetarium show in our large white geodesic tent - if the
 re are enough people in the Centre.\n\nIf you have mobility issues please 
 contact the centre for further details if required. Our site is very dark 
 and we keep lighting to a minimum to preserve night vision and make sure y
 ou have the best possible experience in terms of viewing the night sky. Th
 is inevitably means that there are areas that are dimly lit or very dark. 
 With high walkways\, ramps and steps throughout the Centre you need to tak
 e great care when moving around. PLEASE BRING A TORCH and wear sensible fo
