SUMMARY:The Bavard Bar - Eastbourne
DESCRIPTION:\n\n\nBased on a variety of talking events (think TED talks mee
ts The Moth)\, the Bavard Bar (from ‘bavarder' meaning 'to chat’ in F
rench) is a place for people to come together\, connect and share their p
assions.\n\nOn the 1st Thursday of every month at Printers Playhouse in
Eastbourne\, and the 3rd Wednesday of every month at the Kino-teatr in St
Leonards\, three ‘regular’ people take the stage and speak for about 1
5 minutes each on something they love. Funny or sad\, ordinary or extraord
inary\, talks at the Bavard Bar have ranged from Autism to the Spartans\,
the Interpretation of Dreams to Luxembourg\, the Art of Flirting to the fi
rst Emperor of the USA (true story). And after each speaker there is time
for questions\, interaction and drinking.\n\nSpeakers are booked in advanc
e\, and neither the speakers nor their passions are revealed until the nig
ht. So you never know what you’re going to get until you come along.\n\n
Plus there are wild cards on the night\, including the ‘KP Lite’ chall
enge (6 mystery slides\, 1 1/2 minutes) and a bit of ‘Oojah Kappivvy’
(think WILTY meets Call my Bluff). But unlike a standard comedy night\, fe
el free to sit in the front row if you wish (or anywhere) as you will neve
 r be picked on.\n\nDavid Bramwell\, author\, broadcaster\, and host of Bri
ghton’s Catalyst Club recently gave a brilliant talk at the Bavard Bar e
ntitled ‘The world’s worst orchestra’. After speaking\, David said t
o Tim B’vard\, the genial host and compere of the Bavard Bar: “You’v
e set up something really magical…I had a great time.”\n\nLet’s cele
brate each other. We are all wonderful and expert in our own unique\, fabu
lous and brilliant ways. Come and join the growing BBC (Bavard Bar Club).
You never know what you might hear. Or who you might meet…\nCome and lis
ten and be inspired. Come and speak and be inspiring.\n\nLocation:\nPrinte
 rs Playhouse\, 49A Grove Rd\, Eastbourne BN21 4TX\n\nDate &amp\; Time:\nFi
rst Thursday of every month – 8:00pm\n\nBook tickets here: https://onlin
