We are lucky in Heathfield to be able to easily enjoy the tennis tournament nearby at Eastbourne. Sadly Wimbledon is that bit further, and much more difficult to get tickets for, so most children will only be able to enjoy the TV coverage. But, if this has fired them up with enthusiasm for the sport then you need look no further than Cross in Hand Tennis Club for Summer Holiday Tennis Camps run by South Coast Tennis, catering for ages 5-16. These camps are a great way to keep kids occupied during the holidays.

South Coast Tennis (Cross In Hand LTC) has been delivering quality tennis coaching to schools and clubs in East Sussex since 1997. They have a team of experienced, professional coaches who can support your child with the development of their game both at the holiday camps and during term time in group squads and with individual coaching. Coaches are LTA trained and qualified, first aid trained and insured.

“I believe that tennis should be accessible to all. Whether a child has aspirations of competing on the world circuit or just wish to play for fun, SCT have the tools, experience & enthusiasm to enable your child to release their undiscovered talents and fulfil their potential,” explained Nick Andrews, Head Coach South Coast Tennis.

Their holiday program caters for all ages and standards of players from 5 to 16 yrs, from children who want to try tennis for the first time to those who have regular coaching.

SCT holiday camps are a fantastic way for children to learn tennis. They create an encouraging and dynamic environment to ensure a fun-filled holiday activity for children. The emphasis at the tennis camps is on teamwork, participation and – most important of all – FUN! Children will come away from the camps happy with their improved tennis game and with many new friends. Camps are run every half term break and throughout the Easter and Summer Holidays along with tournament days throughout the year.

For a week of intensive tennis and fun in the holidays, sign up to a week of camp. A variety of drills, games and match play are used each day to convey specific teaching points which are linked to all aspects of the game (technical, tactical, physical and mental). A week is recommended, but it is also possible to book day sessions.
