Heart centred spiritual healing comes to Heathfield

Finding hidden gems and celebrating the wealth of talent to be found in the Heathfield area is a strong part of the ethos of the Heathfield News. So when Magnus Agugu, popped up on Facebook, we knew we had to find out more.

Our journey took us to Waldron to meet the very tall and charming Magnus. He quickly put us at ease and promised a power African Rhythm Massage followed by a group hug.  We couldn’t wait, but first we wanted to find out a bit about him.

Magnus is originally from London, from a family with its roots in Nigeria. He worked in a few different jobs before discovering his gift for healing and it’s this gift that he now feels driven to share.  In a way, he isn’t surprised because healing has had a long tradition in his family – it is just that he didn’t start off feeling like this and his calling came a bit later. Right from Magnus’s first foray into healing, he had great results and was encouraged to explore this gift through laying on hands and hugging. He also studied and took professional qualifications in massage.

“I believe that for a person to find love and value in life they need to open up the pathways for love and energy to flow. Touch is medicine and sadly social media has killed off  a lot of heart to heart contact. I see my mission to reverse this. A hug with me and your day is different. A power hug of 20 seconds will allow endorphin levels to drop and serotonin to kick in, and it’s very important to stay in the hug for at least this length of time to get the maximum benefit,” explained Magnus.

Following this epiphany ‘In DA HUG with MAGNUS’ was born, with over 10,000 people having already felt the benefit. You can find Magnus at festivals and events. He is often in full traditional dress and you will see him sharing his love, energy and healing with a large audience.

After our chat, it was time for the ten minute massage. It was robust and energising and left us feeling nurtured and uplifted. ‘In DA HUG with MAGNUS’ was even more nurturing – like getting a hug from a giant bear in human form. It was an amazing way to start the week. In fact, afterwards, I felt a renewed positivity and that has stayed with me ever since. Who knows if Magnus had anything to do with it.

The Heathfield News has invited him to share the love at Cuckoo Hair (formerly Great Hairdressing) in Heathfield, opposite Sainsbury’s, on Valentine’s Day, Wednesday 14 February. All adults are invited to pop in at 11am to experience ‘In DA HUG with MAGNUS’ and to find out more about his spiritual healing.

“I am very excited to be welcoming Magnus to the salon, it’s a great idea for Valentine’s Day. I know our customers can’t wait; and we hope the rest of Heathfield will join in too. You will be very welcome,” said Leanne Potts owner of Cuckoo Hair
