As Forest School facilitators, teachers and bushcrafters they are passionate about the woods. Whether you’re a Family, School, Adult, or Birthday Party group, Lucy’s Little Forest School has a variety of sessions suited to you. Most sessions in the holidays are for both parent/carer and child, although some allow you to stay on site (there is a Cafe) and leave your child to enjoy the activity nearby.
Here are some highlights of what’s on:
Den Building for all the family – Join Mel and learn how to build a shelter than can withstand wind and rain as well as make it as camouflaged as you possibly can using natural materials we forage for in the wilderness. We will venture into the wood and get into teams and build a shelter to be proud of!
Bug Hunting – Come and create a small clay sculpture of an animal of your choice with fantastic Forest School Jack
Woodland Baking – Join us to make traditional damper bread in the wild with Mel your leader! As the bake off begins mixing and matching an array of ingredients for a taste sensation. Once we are all ready and have packed up all the baking equipment we will go into the wood and find a good spot to collect materials for a fire, and learn how to make a fire and cook dampers over the fire on a hazel/sweet chestnut stick.
Firecraft & Fondue – Learning to make and start a fire and then enjoy dipping fruit and marshmallows into a chocolate fondue
