Chloe la Fay has spent years building up an expansive collection of globally sourced vintage clothing from the 1920s-to the 80s with a heavy lean towards the 1970s. Her concept is called Crystal Vintage and includes exquisite gowns for special occasions, from highly collectable labels such as Chanel, Dior or Ossie Clark, to unique trend and fashion led dresses, outerwear and separates. Chloe feels “These exclusive pieces break away from, and far outlast the high street… quite in essence why vintage is so special.”

Chloe likes to be original in her approach to retailing her collection; no High Street location for her, Chloe’s shop is a large horsebox converted into a mobile shop and living accommodation. This gives her the freedom to go wherever she wants and to set up shop at events and festival with her family in tow.
” My G.l.o.r.i.a is a 7.5 tonne horse box converted into a unique mobile shop, self sufficient in lighting and heating via solar power, converted using almost nothing but recycled materials ‘wombled’ from skips, recycling plants, Freecycle, and from what existed inside already, re used in another capacity. It was even featured on George Clarke’s Small Spaces on TV. A mobile dressing-up box full of one off unique and collectable items” she explained.
Stock is constantly renewed and replenished depending on the event, be it flowery feathery festival garb for the summer season or classic high end bespoke items for events like Goodwood Revival. She stocks fashion led budget items and toned down neutral design classics for lower key events. But really the stock can be geared to any event and ready in the drop of a hat! Bespoke shopping is also available, if you would like GLORIA to turn up at your home you can take home shopping to another level.
After a very busy Summer season, Chloe is holding a clearance sale to make way for new merchandise for next season. There is an Etsy Shop which allows you to browse some of her stock online, but really there is no better way to view the clothes than in person; vintage fabrics look, feel and move in ways far superior to that available in the High Street, and more importantly if you find a gem in Chloe’s collection it is very likely to be one of a kind.
