Exciting start to 2020 for The Great Out-tours

11th February

Horam based, outdoor education and pioneering franchise business, The Great Out-tours has made it to the National Final of the Rural Business Awards, which takes place on 27 February 2020 in Manchester. The business represents the South East in the Best Rural Services Business category, competing against five other businesses. Many parents in East Sussex are familiar with ‘Farmer John’ through his after school clubs, so popular with primary school children; who don their water proofs whatever the weather to experience his unique brand of outdoorsy ‘Four Seasons Activity Programme’ magic. However, his business ambitions extend beyond his home grown clubs.

“We were absolutely thrilled to have won the best ‘South East Rural Professional Services Business award, so being in the National Final up against such an esteemed group of rural businesses is an accolade we will cherish, whatever the result!” commented John Brooksbank, Founder of The Great Out-tours.

We can also report that John’s business has gone from strength to strength, since we last featured his expansion into franchising, he has now taken on new franchisees as far afield as Aberdeen. The new cohort will start their training next week, during which time they become familiar with the ethos of the business, and learn how to deliver the carefully developed outdoor learning sessions so popular with the children who attend the clubs.

Once they have completed the induction, they are ready to run a successful and fulfilling business, and to take the message of the joys of the outdoors and nature back to their areas of Great Britain.
