Harriers Hellingly 10k road race success
Hailsham Harriers held the 34th John Faulds Hellingly 10k Road race this month which formed part of the Sussex Grand Prix series and included runners from many of the clubs and unattached runners throughout Sussex .
The full house entry of 300 runners including 35 Harriers was reached before the day and earlier grey cloudy skies gave way to sunshine which did make conditions warm for the competitors around the undulating course which took in the beautiful Hellingly Village, Magham Down to the outskirts of Cowbeech, and back down Grove Hill to the off road finish adjacent to the Hellingly Village Hall where cakes and drinks were being provided.
The race was won by Daniel Anderson from Hastings AC a previous winner in 35m 12s with Martin Bell leading the Harriers home in 14th place. The ladies team were spectacular with them taking the first four places with Rachel Hillman, Rebecca Holdaway Sarah Underwood and Lisa Goldsmith earning the team prize.
