Heathfield celebrates another successful agricultural show day
29th May

Heathfield Agricultural Show took place on Saturday 24 May
The weather wasn’t as kind as in previous years but that didn’t dim the crowds or the enjoyment of what is a unique event in the rural calendar.
Local MP, Nus Ghani, was among the guests
The local MP Nusrat Ghani, MP for Sussex Weald, was delighted to attend and support the annual Heathfield Agricultural Show, showcasing the best of local farming and agriculture.
This year, the event took place on Saturday 24th May at Tottingworth Farm, featuring a farmers’ market, New Enterprise Zone, food & drinks stalls, livestock and equine competitions, vintage tractor and steam engine procession and motorcycle stunt displays, and arts and crafts highlighting beautiful handmade goods. All alongside the trade stands showcasing the best in agricultural equipment and services.
Nusrat joined David Exwood, Vice President of the NFU, and dozens of local farmers and landowners at the Rural Business Breakfast for a Q&A session about all things farming, food security, farmers’ tax and trade. She also joined the judging and prize giving of the Driving Class Concours D’Elegance / Side Saddle classes, which this year was won by a Hailsham rider.

“Another fabulous Heathfield Show – thanks to all who worked so hard to make it happen, and to the hundreds of volunteers there on the day. We are immensely lucky to have a proper agricultural show here in East Sussex, when so many other counties have lost theirs. Hugely important that our rural communities feel supported and appreciated too. Well done!” commented HM Lord-Lieutenant of Sussex in a Facebook post after the show.
