Heathfield Community College students go in search of history!

29th February

Heathfield Community College’s History A Level students recently had the opportunity to develop their historical knowledge and skills on the English Civil War in a trip to the National Army Museum and The National Archives in London.

The Students were able to see armour and artefacts relating to the Civil War, including the armour and weapons of the time, in the National Army Museum as well as having a hands-on experience with original documents from the period in the National Archives, to carry out a source enquiry at the archives. Their curiosity led the students to make some fabulous discoveries in the archives, including the personal letters of Charles I!

It was a fabulous trip by the students, who really engaged with the day – the Archives remarked on how engaged they were. Great work from all!
