Herstmonceux Castle Gardens and Grounds to re-open late March
16th March
Staff at the wonderful Herstmonceux Castle are gearing up to welcome visitors back at the end of March.
From Monday 29th March to Wednesday 31st March, admission will be just for season ticket holders plus those named on their pass. No pre-booking required.
For both new and returning visitors, the 300 acre Herstmonceux estate with its magnificent 15th century moated castle, offers a great day out. Beyond the themed and formal gardens are meadows, lakes and woodland trails to explore plus the Marlow rope maze, children’s play area, and giant tree swing. There is also a café offering a takeaway menu, ice cream stall and picnic areas. Although tours of the castle interior are not currently available, you can learn more about its fascinating history in the Visitor Centre.
From Thursday 1st April there will be a full public opening, ahead of the Easter weekend. However, advanced online booking is advised to help control numbers and maintain a safe and relaxed environment for all visitors. Opening times are 10am to 7pm with last admission at 5pm.
Please note that the above dates may be subject to change at short notice. Therefore, please check the website and social media for further updates.
Julie Ryan, Enterprise Director, commented: “We are delighted to be reopening and look forward once again to seeing visitors enjoying the gardens and exploring the grounds beyond.”
