Isenhurst has everything you need for your fitness and wellbeing

11th December

Isenhurst Health Club Cross-In-Hand first opened its doors 22 years ago.

Local businessman Steve Butler and his father turned what was the Isenhurst Social Club behind the petrol station in Cross In Hand into the health and fitness club is it today.

With state-of-the-art equipment, an extensive studio programme, personal trainers, a 15m indoor swimming pool, sauna and spa, Isenhurst Health Club Cross In Hand soon became the hub for health and fitness in the Cross In Hand and Heathfield area.

Fitness classes at Cross in Hand

The club which is one of three Clubs in the Isenhurst chain, offers classes for all ages, fitness and abilities including Circuits, Inferno Hot Pilates, Abs Attack, Pump, Spinning, Primal Fitness, Body Balance, Zumba, Pilates and Kettlebells.

Last year the club celebrated its twentieth anniversary by opening a 1,700 sq. ft. strength and conditioning studio. The new space is equipped with the latest Concept2 rowers, Airdyne bikes, running machines and SkiErg, as well as Plyometric boxes, kettlebells, dumbbells and weights.

This studio is one of a number of additions made to modernise the club over the years, enabling it accommodate emerging fitness trends.

It has a long-standing reputation as a centre for health and fitness excellence, with its indoor women’s rowing team winning gold last year at the British Indoor Rowing Championships, held at the Lee Valley VeloPark.  An Isenhurst’s men’s team won Bronze in the 4000m, only to be beaten by two Team GB rowing teams that took the gold and silver places.
