8th January

Hannah Joy, the Youth Worker at Kings Church Heathfield got in touch with us to let us know about a new fitness activity starting up in Heathfield. Working alongside Charlotte Scott, she has been preparing  a Youth Boxing course, which starts on Thursday 10 January at State Hall in Heathfield. The course will focus on fitness and boxing skills for young people 11 to 18 years old, those completing the course will receive a certificate acknowledging their achievements.

“Boxing is a fantastic high energy activity  that has been proven time and time again to give kids and adults alike the tools to help improve self confidence and fitness, whilst teaching fundamentals of discipline, control and hard work in a safe and welcoming environment. I am excited to be part of this new activity for young people. ” explained Richard Poole (Boxing Instructor)

The course is being taught by Richard, a local Sports Coach and Personal Trainer, and has been organised by Kings Church Heathfield. They have received support and funding from local businesses – Waitrose Community Matters, The Co-op, Isenhurst Health Clubs and HWPC.

“We feel the boxing workshops would give the boys and girls self confidence, self discipline, fitness, a feel good factor as well as enjoyment.” commented, Hannah Joy, Kings Church Youth Worker.

The course is running for 9 weeks (10th Jan – 7th March 2019) at State Hall, Heathfield from 7:30 – 9:00pm and open to all young people aged 11-18 years old.
