Local organisations can benefit from Wealden District Council’s Grants, see how to apply before 2019 deadline

5th September

Last year several local groups received small grants from Wealden Council to assist with community projects and services. Groups in the Heathfield area included: The Warbleton Brass Band and the Heathfield Silver Band who received funds to help provide tuition and instruments for young people wanting to join the band. The Hellingly Hound Dogs American Football Team and Stoolball England also received small grants. A larger capital grant was made to The Heathfield Rugby Club and Service Level Grants were made to support The Heathfield Partnership with their Wealden works initiative helping young people into work and People Matter – who provide help for the long term unemployed also received funds.

Any community groups and voluntary organisations can apply by downloading an application form and guidance notes below (NB: You MUST read the guidance notes before filling in an application form) from the WDC website

A hard copy of the application form can also be sent if you contact Michelle Gray using the contact details below.
The Small Grant Scheme is for grants between £500 – £3000.

The Capital Scheme is for grants between £1000 – £15,000.

The match funding required for projects can now be “in-kind” such as volunteer time, member contributions etc.

A limited number of 40 minute pre-application advice sessions, for groups which have not had one before, will take place during office hours in Hailsham, Crowborough and Uckfield.

Sessions must be booked in advance and are to directly discuss a drafted application for your organisation. Please contact Michelle Gray on (01323 443520) or email communitygrants@wealden.gov.uk.

If you are unable to attend one of the sessions, at the very least WDC suggest you make contact to discuss your project. If you can also submit your application so that it reaches the Partnership and Funding Support officer by 15th November, WDC will do their best to give you some feedback before the closing date so that you can strengthen your application. (Please note that this does not guarantee success).

Don’t delay, your group or organisation could receive valuable financial support and allow your group to flourish in the community. Funds must be spent within the financial year April 2020 – March 2021.

Applications must be submitted by the deadline of 30th November 2019.
