New Heathfield Tavern team celebrates first birthday with special event
A pub in Station Road has become one of Heathfield’s most popular eating spots since it was taken over a year ago.
The new team has worked hard to establish a range of events and special offers on different days of the week and host special celebrations such as a New Year’s Eve party.
Reviews on Trip Advisor include comments like: “Great food, superb staff. Carvery on Sunday is great value and really tasty. 2 for 1 burgers on Wednesday is also a great idea. Very clean, tastefully decorated. Well worth a visit.” Overall the venue has a 4.5 rating.”
After the sudden departure of the previous owners, the Ridley family were quick to take over and, after a four-week revamp of the kitchen and bar areas, the Heathfield Tavern re-opened under the Ridley Inns umbrella at the end of February 2019.
Ian Ridley said: “This past year has seen a good start to our tenure as we have forged new relationships with our customers through our fantastic team led by General Manager Piotr. We have, in the words of some of our customers… ‘given them back a pub that they can be proud of’.
“We have introduced music nights, special meal deals, quizzes and a Sunday Carvery, turning the pub into a real buzzing community asset. Our food and service has been getting rave reviews, thanks to the dedication of my youngest son Matt who has been running the kitchen.”
He continued: “In the coming year we will be further building on our reputation and offerings and, very shortly, we will be starting work on the creation of a seating area to the front of the pub, followed by a garden at the rear of the pub accessed through a new door at the rear of the bar area.
“Exciting times are ahead and we hope that the folk of Heathfield will continue to support us.”
To celebrate this milestone there will be 2-4-1 on main courses on Saturday 22nd February between 12pm-5pm (£5*steak supplement applies) but the kitchen will be open until 8.30pm. The fantastic live band 21 Whiskeys will be playing from 9pm.
