Nusrat Ghani MP invites local children to design her official Christmas card
The festive season is around the corner, and with it comes a chance for young artists to see their creativity travel far and wide — even to Buckingham Palace!
Nusrat Ghani, MP for Wealden, has launched her much-loved annual Christmas Card Competition and is calling on all primary school-aged children across the Sussex Weald to take part. That includes pupils from Crowborough, Hailsham, Heathfield, Mayfield and Five Ashes, Wadhurst, and the many villages in between.
This year’s theme is “My favourite part of Christmas Day” — a chance for children to capture the moment that makes the day most special to them, whether it’s unwrapping presents, sharing lunch with family, playing in the snow, or watching a festive film.
The winning design will feature on the front of Nusrat’s official Christmas card, sent to hundreds of people locally and nationally — including His Majesty King Charles III.
Entries can be created in any style or medium: pencil, paint, crayon, or felt tip — the more imaginative, the better. Designs should be A4 size, portrait or landscape, and completely original.
To enter, post your artwork to:

Please make sure the child’s full name, school, and class or year group are written on the back. (These details will be kept private, and only the winners’ names will be shared with permission.)
The closing date is Monday 3rd November 2025, so there’s plenty of time to get creative.

“The Christmas card competition has been a highlight of my seasonal activities since it began in 2015. I’m always amazed by the talent and imagination shown by our local children. Last year’s winners from Framfield, Mark Cross and All Saints’ & St Richard’s in Heathfield set the bar high, and I can’t wait to see what this year brings!”
So, sharpen those pencils, bring out the paints, and get into the Christmas spirit. Your child’s design could be the one spreading festive cheer across the country this year.
