Heathfield is set to light up next weekend as Heathfield & District Bonfire Society’s annual torchlit procession, bonfire and firework display returns on Saturday 10 October.
One of the biggest nights in Heathfield’s calendar, the event will bring together bonfire societies from across Sussex for an evening of traditional bonfire celebrations, flaming torches, music and a spectacular aerial firework display.
The evening gets underway early, with the Martyrs Bar, behind Pennell’s Carpets, opening from 5pm.
The torchlit procession will take place through Heathfield during the evening, with Heathfield & District Bonfire Society joined by visiting bonfire societies from across the county.
One of the highlights will be the unveiling of this year’s mystery tableau, which will later be consigned to the flames at the firesite.
At the firesite, the Gun Tap Room opens from 8.30pm, ahead of the grand finale, with the fireworks expected at around 9pm.
Tickets are required for entry to the firesite to see the bonfire and firework display.
Firesite tickets can be bought in advance online through TicketSource, with a limited number of discounted Early Bird tickets available while stocks last.
The Society is encouraging people to buy ahead of the event to avoid missing out.
The torchlit procession itself can be watched from the town.
