Warm weather is boosting house sales says local agent

The warm weather is good for property sales – that’s the verdict of estate agents and chartered surveyors Samuel and Son.
The company, which has offices in Heathfield and Horam, says it has seen a significant increase in people wanting to view properties since the sunny spell began.

Director Andrew Samuel said: “Traditionally things start slowing down as the schools begin to break up and people plan to go on holiday. This year has been different and, despite the uncertainty around things like Brexit, there seems to be a great deal of optimism along with the sunshine.
“Often it’s about individuals realising that time is money and that we are only on this planet for a short period so if they have the opportunity to change something they are doing it.”
Andrew went on to explain that, in his view, the London market has peaked and people are now looking for homes that they can commute to London from in around an hour and are in easy reach of airports and motorways.
“We are in a unique environment and people are being drawn to the beautiful landscape. People’s work situations are changing too and many people are not being forced to commute to London every day as remote working
