Purple Day is an international grassroots effort dedicated to increasing awareness about epilepsy worldwide. On March 26th annually, people in countries around the world are invited to wear purple and host events in support of epilepsy awareness. Last year, people in dozens of countries on all continents including Antarctica participated in Purple Day!

Many shops in Heathfield and the surrounding area are joining in with Purple Day with purple-themed window displays. The area’s Purple Day is being organised by Michelle Samuel who tragically lost her sister Diane to Sudep Sudden Unexpected Death in Epilepsy. She is working tirelessly to raise awareness of Sudep and help prevent others being affected.
