Win a delicious Vines Cross turkey

We’re giving you the chance to win a delicious oven-ready, free-range bronze turkey that has been reared and prepared locally for you by J & R Sheffield Turkeys in Vines Cross, near Horam.
The winner will receive a 5.5-6.5kg turkey that will easily feed six to eight people with leftovers for turkey sandwiches. Collection will be from the farm at a pre-arranged date with the winner.
Established over 65 years ago, the Sheffield family has produced turkeys for the seasonal market since 1950.
Nestled in the Weald countryside, the farm is currently run by Jim Sheffield alongside his children and grandchildren. While farming has changed a lot since the early days, traditional farming methods with well-established, high welfare standards remaining a priority.
Brought to the farm as day old poults at the end of May each year, the turkeys are kept indoors in large barns under heat lamps until around 12 weeks when they are then allowed full access to large roaming spaces, or are part of the free range flock. They are looked after by Joey and Polar – the farm’s white alpacas who protect the turkeys from foxes.

Entries must be received by Friday November 22nd. A winner will be chosen at random and notified by Saturday 23rd November. There is no cash alternative. The last day for collection is Tuesday 24th December 8am – 1.30pm.
