The Middle House is a 16th Century Free House with an extensive bar menu, impressive restaurant and small but cosy hotel. It is situated in historic Mayfield.
The Middle House is open every day for lunch and dinner. You can eat in the bar, the restaurant or the brasserie. There is an amazing carvery every Monday night.
Breakfast is served in the new Brasserie and on the Terrace in the summer. Come along and give it a try from 8.30-11.00am Saturday and Sunday only. Bookings recommended.
Traditional afternoon tea and cream teas are served in the new Brasserie and Terrace on Friday and Saturday.
We believe in supporting our local economy and letting you know exactly where your food is coming from.

FREE RANGE EGGS – Badgers Mead Farm, Mayfield
All our food is homemade and prepared to order; including all our ice creams, sorbets and desserts. Our cottage rolls and speciality breads and also homemade and baked daily.
If you wish to stay the night you will find all our rooms are individually decorated and furnished in a style fitting to the building. Prices start from £95 single occupancy with breakfast. We have a twin-bedded room and bedrooms with beautiful four-poster beds.
We are proud to be located in such a beautiful village. Much of Mayfield is classed as a conservation area and the High Street alone contains 40 buildings officially listed as being of special historical or architectural importance. The parish as a whole contains nearly 180 such buildings. Mayfield finds it easy to mix folklore and history and The Middle has numerous tales from secret priest holes and prison cells to murders and suicides.
