CCTV installed at Tower Recreation Ground in Heathfield
After many months of complaints – Heathfield & Waldron Parish Council have listened to residents’ concerns over anti-social behaviour at the Tower Rec in Heathfield and have installed CCTV to help alleviate the problems. The pictures will feed direct to the police at their monitoring room in Lewes.
Following the council’s request the police are already undertaking patrols at the site and it will work with them to ensure that this site is as safe as it can be. The council is already liaising closely with the police on incidents that have occurred in other areas of the town and the police have increased their patrols in these areas and recently undertook an extra Operation Blitz patrol in Heathfield, which resulted in home visits being made following anti-social behaviour. Whilst the town continues to be very safe the council will continue to work and invest in equipment to ensure that this is the case.
Action is now being undertaken to obtain the necessary permissions to also install CCTV at the skatepark tucked away beside the old railway tunnel on Station Approach.
