Cross-In-Hand school closes as burst water main causes interuptions in supply
15th January

Burst water main at Cross-in-Hand just outside Heathfield
Early this morning, 15 January, many residents of Cross-In-Hand experienced low water pressure or no water at all. This had been caused by a burst main in the area, which South Eastern Water tried to fix as quickly as possible. To allow for the safe repair of the burst pipe, some traffic management needed to be put in place before the work could start start. This resulted in a last minute closure of Cross-in-Hand Primary school. Latest school opening news can be found on their Facebook page.
Even by mid afternoon people were still encountering problems with their supply and waiting on updates from SouthEastWater.
