Direct cremations, a simpler option, explained by Wealden Funerals

There is another option to full on funeral services which is cost effective and simple – one company offering the Direct Cremation is Ashdown Direct Cremation service from Wealden Funerals. It’s a simple, affordable, and yet personal alternative to a traditional funeral service.

Direct Cremations provide families with the flexibility to memorialise their loved one at a time and place and in a way that is meaningful to them, whilst Wealden Funerals ensure that the deceased is treated with the same utmost respect and dignity as would be expected with a full service, whilst keeping costs to a minimum.

Fixed price: £1495

The family staff will collect the deceased from the place of their death in our dedicated removal car

Each funeral service is treated individually, whatever the type of funeral. That’s why Wealden Funerals use the funeral car to bring the deceased into its care. Wealden Funerals don’t believe in treating anyone any differently from how we would want to be treated ourselves.

Although no attended ceremony is involved with a Direct Cremation, loved ones are still guaranteed the same care and attention they would receive with any of the full services.

Wealden Funerals will look after your loved until the day of cremation.

“Everything is taken care of for the safe journey of your loved one to make certain that the cremation runs smoothly. We will make all preparations for the deceased to ensure that they are cremated in a dignified manner, including if required, dressing them in suitable attire supplied by yourself.

“The cremation will take place at our local trusted partner crematorium, and we will let you know where and when it will take place,” explained Andy Kirk, Wealden Funerals.

You will be guided through the completion of the paperwork

Administrative tasks can be confusing and overwhelming at the best of times, but even more so when you are going through a life-altering event.

With Wealden Funerals you will be guided through every step and run through all form completion required by law for the cremation. This will ensure that you know exactly what is required and the timescales for each event.

Your loved one will be transported to a local crematorium in a hearse

“Your loved one is in safe, caring hands. They deserve the best possible services available, and that is why we are one of a few companies that will transport them to a Direct Cremation in our funeral hearse. We will even provide floral decorations in the hearse for the final journey,” explained Andy Kirk, Wealden Funerals.

And after the cremation…

Your loved one’s ashes will be personally collected from the crematorium and brought back into Wealden Funeral’s care for you to decide how you want to proceed. You can arrange to come into the offices and collect the ashes at your earliest convenience, or they can be delivered back to you locally. All ashes are returned as standard in a quality biodegradable ashes box – if you want something more substantial then you can discuss the options.

It is a fixed price which covers everything and there are no hidden fees

“As a local family business, we believe in being open and transparent. We believe in providing a high-quality service at a fair price. All our prices are available to view on our website 24 hours a day. We pride ourselves on being fully compliant with all CMA rules and regulations, plus those of the National Association of Funeral Directors.

“The most important people are your loved ones, and we are extremely honoured when a family chooses us to look after them.” explained Andy Kirk, Wealden Funerals.
