Help re-instate the freedom to study abroad for all

European Movement need your support to reclaim the study opportunities in Europe

Lend your voice to the campaign to be part of the Erasmus Programme

Although promises were made that the Erasmus Programme would not be shelved , unfortunately students now find themselves unable to be part of this EU funded programme and they are excluded from the multiple benefits of being able to study freely in Europe as part of a university or higher education course.

Previously, Erasmus provided people of all ages with the experiences and skills to develop and participate in society. It offered opportunities in higher education, school education, vocational education, training, adult education, youth services, and sport. Students were able to apply directly to their chosen university or college in Europe as part of the scheme. While now there is limited funding via the Government’s Turing Scheme targeted at young people, only educational organisations can apply on behalf of students.

Erasmus+ had sponsored programmes that benefit older people, people wanting to retrain in a different career, teachers, and others who are now not a focus of the opportunities available.

Restoring Britain’s place in the Erasmus+ Programme would unlock millions in additional funding for our schools and universities, giving students the opportunity to once more study and travel across Europe. This a vital step in retaining Britain’s standing in the world and upholding the world renown of our universities.

If you believe this is a benefit that everyone in the UK should be able to apply for then you can show your support by signing the petition. You can also find out more about the campaign: https://www.europeanmovement.co.uk/embrace-erasmus
