Heathfield shows big support for inaugural fundraiser movie quiz night
Heathfield proved once again what a vibrant and supportive community it is as residents packed out the inaugural Movie Quiz Night this week. The event drew a fantastic crowd, creating an atmosphere full of laughter, friendly rivalry, and plenty of movie nostalgia.
Thanks to everyone who came along, an impressive £1,208 was raised — all of which will go directly toward the ongoing effort to bring a dedicated cinema to Heathfield. The strong turnout and enthusiasm throughout the evening highlighted just how much the town wants a place of its own to enjoy films together.
A big congratulations goes to Matthew Hunter and his team, who claimed the top spot and walked away as champions of the night. With another quiz planned for the New Year, the big question is: can they hold onto the trophy?
Lucky raffle winners Stewart Blackford, Andrew Blackford, and Katie Smith also took home prizes, adding to the excitement of the evening.
“Organiser thanks go out to the hardworking volunteers — Julie, Laura, Amelia, and Emily — who kept the bar and hotdog stand running smoothly. Their help played a huge part in the night’s success.
“The event was more than just fun — it showcased the town’s desire for a community cinema, and the vision behind the project remains as strong as ever.” said Vault Cinema representative.
As the organiser quoted from the classic film Field of Dreams:
“If you build it, they will come.”
And if this week’s quiz is anything to go by, Heathfield is more than ready.
