Tara Goldsmith raises over £500 in memory of her grandad

3rd April

The granddaughter of a Heathfield businessman who dedicated much of his time to helping others has completed a dog walking challenge in his memory.

Tara Goldsmith completed the 62k March Dog Walking Challenge for Dementia UK in memory of her grandfather Trevor Goldsmith who passed away recently. Trevor died aged 77 after suffering from dementia for four years. Tara is one of four grandchildren.

Tara said: “This challenge holds even more meaning as I say my final goodbye to him this Thursday at his funeral. I am incredibly grateful to everyone who donated, helping me raise a total of £563 for such an important cause. Thank you all for your support and generosity, it means the world to me and my family.

“My relationship with my grandad was one filled with warmth, wisdom, and love. From a young age, I remember him sharing stories from his life, offering advice, and teaching me important lessons about kindness, patience, and resilience. His sense of humour always brightened my day and our time spent together was precious. His presence was a steady source of comfort, and I cherish every moment we spent together, knowing that his love and guidance will stay with me forever.

“His unwavering commitment to making a difference in the lives of others through his involvement in various community initiatives in Heathfield will be remembered with gratitude by myself and my family.”
