8th December

Join us on this special Open Evening as we celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 8 mission

The Iconic Earthrise photo
Launched on December 21st 1968, Apollo 8 was the first manned spacecraft to reach the Moon, orbit it and return safely to Earth.
To explain how NASA achieved this, Robin Mobbs, a Lead Educator for the National Space Academy, will be giving a fascinating ‘behind the scenes’ talk about this ground-breaking mission.
Before and after the talk, there will be viewing of the night sky through our historic telescopes (weather permitting).
Time: Gates open at 6.30pm and close at 11pm.
The talk will take place at 7.30pm
Cost: Normal admission price and no advance booking necessary
