Win afternoon tea at The Middle House Hotel

Here’s your chance to win an indulgent afternoon tea with bubbly for you and a friend or loved one at the famous Middle House Hotel in Mayfield. Served in the modern brasserie – or on the terrace in the Summer with stunning views of the Sussex countryside – all of the sandwiches, cakes and scones are prepared every day by hand in The Middle House kitchens using only the finest ingredients. To accompany the rest of the delights you can choose from ten local teas.

Afternoon tea is served on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 12.00 to 4.30pm. Due to the popularity of these amazing afternoon teas, reservations are essential. Afternoon teas are not served during December.

Listed as Grade 1, The Middle House, Mayfield is a wonderful specimen of Elizabethan architecture, with wattle and daub infill which dates back to 1575. The house was originally built for the financier Sir Thomas Gresham, Keeper of the Privy Purse to her Majesty Queen Elizabeth 1st.

A private residence until the late 1920s, The Middle House is now the home of an old world pub, impressive restaurant and small but cosy hotel.

The Middle House Hotel also serves lunches and evening meals. All the food is homemade and prepared to order; including all our ice creams, sorbets, bread and desserts. For an even more special experience you can book bed and breakfast and stay overnight in the beautiful, historic rooms.
